Faraday Adopts XinDA Library Characterization for Mixed-Signal Blocks

HSINCHU, Taiwan and HONG KONG – July 1, 2022 – Faraday Technology Corporation (TWSE: 3035), a leading ASIC design service and IP provider, and XinDA Design Automation Limited, an Electronic Design Automation (EDA) company, today jointly announced that Faraday has adopted XinDA’s Charlie™ to speed up library characterization of Ethernet PHY, MIPI, USB, ADC, DLL and other mixed-signal blocks.

Charlie™ is an ultra-fast library characterization solution with True-SPICE accuracy for memories and mixed-signal blocks, supporting advanced Liberty models including LVF to enable accurate full-chip timing variation signoff. Charlie fully automates the complex process of memory and block characterization, improves circuit design and CAD teams’ productivity, and increases coverage and robustness of library models for mixed-signal blocks and SRAMs.

“Traditional library characterization for mixed-signal block is a manual process involving long simulation runtimes or hand-crafted critical path partitions, consuming valuable resources from the circuit design and CAD teams,” said Cheng-Hsing Chien, R&D Senior Associate VP of Faraday Technology Corporation. “Using XinDA’s Charlie significantly shortens the library characterization turnaround time, reduces engineering effort, improves critical path coverage and produces accurate and comprehensive library models.”

“XinDA provides orders-of-magnitude speedup in library characterization, with accuracy matching True-SPICE simulations,” said Ken Tseng, CEO and founder of XinDA Design Automation. “We are delighted to have Faraday adopting Charlie library characterization solutions. Using Charlie, Faraday will be able to easily characterize all of their SRAM and mixed signal block designs and produce the most advanced library models.”
